Children’s safety is often overlooked

If that child is killed because of your stupidity and negligence, what are you going to do and HOW will you be able to live with yourself?

When it comes to the safety of children in the car, you’d think the driver would at least care enough to buckle up both himself/herself AND the child but NO, all I see every single day is children hanging out the window, standing on the back seat, sitting in front on the passenger seat with his/her arm hanging out the window, standing in the back console between the two front seats, sitting on the front passenger seat with his/her chin on the dashboard, standing on the passenger’s lap on the front seat or even worse, sitting on the drivers’ lap while driving!

What on earth is going on with people of today? If that child is killed because of your stupidity and negligence, what are you going to do and HOW will you be able to live with yourself for the rest of your life knowing YOU were responsible for the death of that child?
It’s too late to cry when your child is dead.

Do you care so little that you couldn’t be bothered to take your child’s safety into consideration? There is a law that has been made official from May 1, 2015 stating that all babies and toddlers should be buckled up in a car seat and once they are old enough, they are still to wear a seatbelt in the back seat. Shame on you!

These people need to be named and shamed! As someone mentioned, the public humiliation of these guilty parties would be nothing compared to the horror of the child’s injuries or possible death, should that driver crash or be involved in a crash caused by another person.

People are so quick to just look the other way and not get involved but it is a child’s life in danger and I am not one to just sit back and look the other way. It really grinds me to see this irresponsibility in people and it shows they just don’t care. Yes it’s easy to say you just going down the road quickly to buy bread or milk but it just takes that quick second to have an accident or slam on brakes and when that happens, think of the consequence and if you don’t want to do it for yourself, then do it for the child.

I am a parent and not once have I allowed my child to sit freely without a seatbelt because she is my everything, my gift from above and I care enough to go out my way to protect her as best I can. I would like to appeal to ALL the traffic officials out there to start a safety check campaign. Maybe this will help improve the safety on the road as well as the children. If this doesn’t make some impact on you then ask yourself: “What if it was my child in that car?”
