DA complain about late notice by council

This was the first the DA had heard about the meeting and this at the ratepayer’s expense.

Editor – The ANC-run Emnambithi/Ladysmith Municipality opposed the new Ward Boundaries that the Municipal Demarcation Board made, especially for Wards 11 and 12.

When the Municipal Demarcation Board rejected the alternative proposals to change Wards 11 and 12 for the ANC’s benefit made by Emnambithi/Ladysmith Municipality, the municipality made an appointment to meet the Municipal Demarcation Board in Pretoria on Friday, August 7, to have their proposals reconsidered.

Only at 6.31pm on Thursday, August 6, was an SMS sent to the DA to inform them that transport to the meeting with the Municipal Demarcation Board would be leaving the next morning at 6am.

This was the first the DA had heard about the meeting and this at the ratepayer’s expense.

This action of the ANC-controlled municipality is obviously not to the benefit of the people of Ladysmith, but is purely a political move.

No prize for guessing that the 2016 Municipal Election battle has started.
