Are you doing your bit to care for our town?

I am left speechless when trying to figure out what is happening to our once beautiful town

After reading the article on the mess made in Lorne Street in last week’s edition of the Estcourt News it became clear to me why I had unknown people lurking around the refuse bags piled up in Elizabeth Avenue. After noticing this once I grew paranoid and made countless trips to my front gate to check, a couple of times this person would make eye contact with me then leave.

I must admit and many will agree that there are dogs that roam the street and rip a few refuse bags open. I got very angry with the thought of bags of rubbish lying everywhere due to one person with an ‘I don’t care’ attitude. With that said; I would like to express how I feel on a number of issues in and around our town.

On the issue of horses and donkeys roaming around town, why has no one come forward and taken these animals to their stables or rightful homes? Neighbours no longer have respect; deafening music will be turned on during odd hours early in the morning. I don’t understand how one can have parties every day?

I cannot allow for drug lords to live amongst my family, my children and my loved ones. At every turn there is either overflowing drains or streams of clean water flowing from unreported burst water pipes.

This leaves me both saddened and greatly angered. The state of our roads are absolutely disgusting, I am left speechless when trying to figure out what is happening to our once beautiful town. I would like to urge each Estcourt resident to pull their weight and help take care of our town.
