Madam – Creating employment.

Being aware that I am no financial advisor, but with a little common sense.

If our traffic department can be a little diligent in performing their duties: Employment can be created for about 25 people. Here’s an idea, if the following fines can be imposed daily, and this is just on average! Needless to mention, these traffic violations (and much, much more) are happening on a daily basis!

Let’s assume the following fines are correct.

Driving through red lights = R2000

Not stopping at stop signs = R300

Not indicating = R300

Overtaking on a barrier line = R1000 (minimum)

Driving without a licence = R2000

Driving without a seatbelt = R300

Talking on a cellphone while driving = R300

Speeding R1000 (minimum)

Total = +- R7000 on average per day

R7000 X7 = R49000 per week = R196 000 per month minus about R30 000 for petrol/wear tear/admin. + Profit.

TOTAL = +-R160 000.00 divided by 25 people = +- R6000!

Employment for +-25 people on a livable salary! In turn if these 25 people show dedication in their work, more employment can be created!

Yes, a pyramid scheme that will work! What shall we call these people? Metro police? Fine issuers? Whatever, as long as the traffic department. wins back the roads, and some people have employment!

Question: Who will rise up to the challenge?
