Let it pour

Despite the recent rain, we still need to conserve water and refrain from wastage.

Dear Madam,

With the recent rainfall partially quenching our dry land, we need to show immense gratitude that there is still hope the drought will come to an end.

However, despite the recent rain, we still need to conserve water and refrain from wastage.

I have noticed several people watering their gardens, hosing their cars down and showing a total disregard to the crisis we are currently facing.

The rain was a heaven sent, but the problem is far from over.

I personally feel that we as a community need to start looking at ways to save water.

Our country, our town, will suffer immensely if we do not get more rainfall and the drought persists.

Without water, farmers’ crops will be affected and that means no food for us. Furthermore, no drinking water will be available, and yes, that means no bottled water from the stores as well.

Without planning ahead, we could face a disaster with dire consequences.

Other than planning, we can only pray that more rain will fall and fill our dams and rivers.

Yours sincerely,

Save water
