Dear Madam,
The year has barely begun and already 2016 has been marred by a series of collisions and deaths.
While I am not pointing fingers at anyone, I honestly feel people are not paying enough attention to the road.
I will refuse to call collisions an accident, as that would imply that no one was at fault.
On numerous occasions, I have seen people chatting away on their cellphones and on the occasion even texting.
Speeding is becoming the norm and stop streets are seen as mere suggestions.
Motorists need to be more vigilant and cautious when driving as a collision can happen so quickly.
If the collision proves to be fatal, then more than one person suffers. Families are torn apart by the loss of a child, a mother, a father or sibling.
Is the price of a human life really worth getting to the shops five minutes quicker, truly worth it?
What if you die? Would you like to leave your children or spouse behind?
Let’s try to be more considerate and drive safer on our roads.
Sincerely,
Cautious Driver
