Madam – Abuse is so common in almost every household.

Children go through abuse, even spouses endure abuse. But where will you draw the line? You might think that the abuse will end after a divorce, but it doesn’t. It doesn’t matter who gets custody of the children, there will always be a small spark of abuse. Children are the most affected ones when a family splits up.

The father will fight for custody if the wife seems unfit, not to other standards but to his own. The mother lost the fight for not having evidence of her own of the husband’s/father’s personality.

Children are manipulated by the spouse and alienate the children from their mother.

Manners, respect and discipline the mother had in place are broken down, and the discipline of the father are crafted into them. There is nothing more hurtful than children not having respect for their own mother.

From my own personal experience, this is the most hurtful thing any father can do by using the children as a weapon to break down the mother even more. The father just doesn’t accept that his behaviour leads to mental breakdown.

With every breakdown, the father keeps using mental disorder as an excuse for not letting the children visit their mother, and if they do, they show no respect at all. If the mother only locked up the husband for violent abuse, then maybe the children would have respect for the mother but with so much manipulation from the father’s side, the mother doesn’t stand a chance.

Then the only thing a mother can do is to pray for her children and never let a word slip if there was any sign of a breakdown.

What do you say when people ask you how your children are and when you last saw them. What can you answer? Just that you trust all is going well and that you keep them in your prayers.

Towards others you look like a mother who just doesn’t care, but deep inside you are breaking apart.

And the only strength that keeps you going, is the strength you get from the Lord. The tears you shed at night are counted by Him but it doesn’t go unnoticed. Life is cruel and with such pain, who can resist further heartache?
