A woman of power to celebrate the Bushman heritage

Today we have the Bushmen descendants because of her and Estcourt is a historical site and can be claimed by Bushmen descendants as a historical landmark

The last battle of Estcourt involving the Bushmen people: Mr Murray had a fight with a few Bushmen. Shortly after a Bushman woman and her child were arrested and jailed at Estcourt’s first prison in Harding Street.

Overnight the Bushman woman dug a hole under the foundation and escaped with her child. This woman showed all women that being a woman; you can fight the war of oppression.

Her determination saved herself and her child. She could have been killed, with her child, but she told herself that she would not allow the system to destroy them.

Today we have the Bushmen descendants because of her and Estcourt is a historical site and can be claimed by Bushmen descendants as a historical landmark.

This woman will go down in history; it is possible to escape oppression. She dug the entire night and her focus was freedom. A monument must be structured on behalf of this Bushman woman and her child.

Let us see Estcourt’s true history and recall the pain and suffering of our indigenous people in this town by educating communities and highlighting our rich history.

You cannot build a town on people’s bones and still not respect their descendants. These bones are moving and will come together and cause a new life to rise.
