Dear Mr Honourable Mayor

Dear Mr Honourable Mayor. Please check with the department that is dealing with the sub contractor that is busy digging the at robots and intersections. Our town was neat. The recent digging at intersections has left huge potholes and unlevelled pathways in destruction. Why don’t they restore it the way they found it, before they started? Rafik lattif, Business owner.

Thank you for bringing this up to our attention, though I have to admit that I have witnessed this before. We shall get the relevant department to look into the matter. It is a matter of proper supervision by our department after the work has been completed.

2. As Eskom assure us that they have sufficient power and your Municipality purchases power from Eskom – WHY – does your electrical department still turn my GEYSER OFF in the morning???? If it is to assist Karbochem and companies – they have their own co-generation plant. My account is always paid up and yet I have to have cold water after one person has showered. Denis Smith

On this issue of electricity, it is all about saving electricity thus our environment. Most of our power stations are coal powered and we all know the effect of that on our environment. However, it is very strange that you will have cold water after one person has showered. Please contact my office so that we may look into your matter.

3. Dear Mr Mayor I’m worried and concern about black community school(meaning Madadeni schools).I hardly see any advert about them.Whether it’s sport or a certain activity or are we lacking somewhere us parents or school teachers or us community. What is your take Mr Mayor on this matter? Thank you

The concern about township public schools. I am not certain whether the reader is concerned about the news about those schools or adverts. I want to believe that the reader refers to the news. My view would be that the schools must be establish contacts with local newspapers for coverage of the events in respective schools. We may also urge our local editors to take interest in the activities of these schools. As a Municipality we have nothing much to do about it.

4. Dear Mayor, many people are unhappy with the St Dominic street road, I know that the trees are affecting it but If you can please have it retarred, it would be highly appreciated.

I have not travelled on St Dominic Street lately but I know few years back, already it was bad. We cannot promise to attend to it immediately but it will form part of our priority list. It is always better to maintain the road than to allow it to deteriorate to a point where it has to be started all over again. The assessment will be done on the road by the department immediately.
