When you look around you, what do you see? I am not only talking about the country but more specifically of Estcourt! Things are happening and happening at an alarming rate! There is a sudden increase in deaths.
We see funerals taking place just about every weekend. So much so that people are asking this: what is going on? We see young people dying in horrible car accidents. Why is this happening?
Some parents ask, why the Lord is allowing this to happen? Why is our country and town not prospering? We see our young people sitting at home not getting jobs. The Estcourt economy is on its knees. Why? Corruption is on a great scale. For months, municipal workers are now not getting paid. Because of this many households are struggling to make ends meet.
Again, the question is asked: why is our town not prospering? The Lord says through His prophet: “Thus saith the LORD, what iniquity has your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and become vain?” Jer 2:5. Can you see what God is saying?
“They are gone from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain!” Yes, we have drifted away from the Lord not only that, we have run after vanity and have become vain! The things that are really important have gone out the door! We made the unimportant things of this world, important! This is why God is not in the picture anymore.
Let us just stop a while and take a look at the way we raise our children. By law we are not allowed to discipline children anymore! What are we raising up for the future of this country and town? Undisciplined and spoiled children! Is this what God wants? No!
God has given these children as a gift to raise up for Him! The Lord says that if we spare the rod, we will spoil the child! Prov 29:15; 23:13-14. Those that spoiled the children, their souls the Lord will spoil! Prov 22:23.
The Lord says that he who neglect or offend a child, a millstone is tied to the neck and he be thrown into the deepest of the sea! Mark 9:42.
