What is going on in Estcourt? Part two

Are you really interested in our town and country to prosper? Do you want all your children to get jobs and prosper?

‘And say thou unto them thus saith the LORD God of Israel; cursed be the man that obeyeth not the words of this covenant,’ Jer 11:3.

Can you see what the prophet is saying? Yes, cursed is the man that disobeys the covenant of God! Can you see why our country and our town is cursed? Can you see why God is allowing all these things to come over us? He is our heavenly Father and loves us and therefore He must chastise us to try and get us to repent.

If God disciplines His people because of love, should we not do the same if we love our children? Yes, we have drifted away from God and we worship foreign gods! Jacob drifted away from God. Gen 35. After 30 years God called Jacob to go back to Beth-el. Gen 35:1.

Beth-el stands for the presence of God, the house of God. Before Jacob could move to Beth-el, he had to do three things first. He and his household had to wash, put on clean clothes and get rid of all the foreign gods. Today God is also calling us, you and me, to return to Beth-el. He loves us and is longing to see us back home, in His house.

Before we can move back in we also need to do these three things. Wash ourselves, meaning we must confess our sin before God.

We must put on clean clothes, meaning we must take off the garments of sin and be clothed with the garments of righteousness.

Then we must get rid of all the foreign gods meaning, we must make a clean break from the flesh and the world!

See how 2 Chron 7:14 put it.
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Are you really interested in our town and country to prosper? Do you want all your children to get jobs and prosper? Here we have the formula for prosperity!

‘If My people will humble themselves, pray and seek my face.’

Yes, if we would come before God in prayer and seek His forgiveness. Yes, if we would come with godly sorrow and seek His face in prayer and are willing to turn from our wicked ways, He will hear our prayers and He will forgive us heal our land and make it prosperous!
