Municipality all out for a duck

Overgrown grass and reeds calf-height have caused a "pitch invasion" - it’s absolutely shocking!

Editor – For many years, Ladysmith had two cricket fields, one in pristine condition (Settlers Park) and the other in reasonably good condition (Agra Road).

Both cricket fields had good turf pitches.

However, the Agra Road pitch is now in a pathetic condition. It can no longer be called a pitch.

Overgrown grass and reeds calf-height have caused a “pitch invasion”. It’s absolutely shocking!

Stalwarts of yesteryear probably pass the grounds daily and have witnessed this rather sorry sight.

So who should be “no balled” for this unsightly condition?

The powers that be, please eradicate this pitch invasion and let’s have the gentleman’s game as we used to have it, played on lazy weekend afternoons for all to enjoy.
