Why are there so many disinterested parents?

If you fail to show interest in your child's/children's school career, you are most likely to blame for the kind of 'don't care' attitude learners give off at school

What is going on with parents today? Are they not interested in their children’s welfare and well-being anymore?

Has our society’s morals degraded to such an extent where parents are simply not interested in attending school activities and meetings.
It was appalling to attend a scheduled meeting concerning behaviour and respect in the school environment at Forderville Primary School on March 23.

Only THREE parents were present, therefore the meeting was cancelled due to poor attendance. Keep in mind that each pupil received a notice to make parents and guardians aware of this meeting.

The rate of bullying and disrespect shown towards educators and the elderly is rapidly spiralling out of control and the lack of interest from parents at meetings to jointly work on a way forward, is utterly DISGUSTING.

Parents are the root cause of this, I believe. If you fail to show interest in your child’s/children’s school career, you are most likely to blame for the kind of ‘don’t care’ attitude learners give off at school.

If you, as parents, are a living example of this, it must be very hard for educators to put these youngsters on the right path.
The absence of a parent is a silent way of saying I condone the behaviour you, as the school or affected party, is trying to address.
We, as parents, allow ourselves to be so engrossed in the happenings around us, including things mostly petty.

Life can get extremely chaotic at times; SADLY, we are living in an age where parents are permanently glued to smartphones and constantly on social media.Take pride in the safety and well-being of your child’s schooling career!
