Editor – With tears in my eyes, I write this letter to you regarding the starving and dehydrated dog that was found in Winterton on Monday morning.
How can people be so damn cruel?
Really, animals also have feelings and feel pain. If people cannot look after animals, then why keep them?
We have an AACL, so if we don’t want or can’t afford to keep our pets, then why don’t we contact the league instead of making these poor animals suffer?
Do they really deserve such cruelty?
No, God has not intended this. Dogs are supposed to be our best friends and protectors, so treasure them just like we treasure our children. I really want justice to be enforced when it comes to animal abusers.
A fine is NOTHING after killing an animal. Is that justice? No, animal abusers need to suffer as well. Let them see what it feels like to be tortured; let them feel the pain as well. I really hope that our law takes animal abuse more seriously and that the perpetrators get the extreme punishment they deserve.
