To the Mayor
Please may you advise the public, via this media about where the taxis are supposed to be?
We are having taxis gathering outside the BOWLING CLUB, ST JAMES ANGLICAN CHURCH in CONNOR STREET and in LORNE STREET. This is really pathetic that you don’t implement the BY-LAWS and STOP turning a blind eye to the public doing just as they please.
They are washing their vehicles, tossing litter out all over the place and just hanging around waiting for passengers. Surely the VERY costly TAXI RANK is meant to be used for its exact purpose. It’s time to take control and implement the by-laws and start getting order in this chaotic town.

There are vehicles, taxis and people doing just as they please. Pedestrians are crossing at the intersections while it’s RED for them and they EXPECT the motorists to WAIT for them. They are crossing the roads like they own the road and the motorists must wait for them. They just don’t care a hoot about a motorist.
As for RED traffic lights, what the heck are they for? The motorists just don’t care and cross at a red light. And let us not forget to mention NO PARKING ZONES, RED LINES OUTSIDE MARYLU BOTTLE STORE AND THE TOTE. TRAFFIC OFFICIALS, why are you not around doing your jobs, especially when this town is at its busiest? This disrespect for the law causes such a traffic jam. Mayor, where are you and what job description have you as a Mayor? It sure looks like you don’t care about our town.
Do you not think that it’s time to be proactive? Fix our roads before YOU have a lawsuit against you. Just take a drive in town and on ALL the roads leading out. The potholes are very dangerous. The road markings are very poor.

The sign posts are pathetic and are not taken notice of. There is a STOP sign on the road coming from the ‘air field’ that is facing the wrong way. Someone driving along the R103 and doesn’t know the road, will just drive into the road leading down from Midway and will cause a horrific accident.

Mayor, please take control and do your job. Estcourt IS a very dangerous town to live in and to be a passer-by. We also have cattle in town… unacceptable. Estcourt is a filthy pig sty! We have become an infested rubbish dump.
