Sir
The letter from one Lloyd, regarding radical Glencoe transformation, is really quite laughable.
The only way we can get transformation is for this Council and all Councils to ensure hard-earned ratepayers tax money is spent on the right things.
Not on so-called imbizos, frivolous expenditure and parties. Or giving lucrative tenders and jobs to pals. It is not only here – it is everywhere. Transformation into a proper local government led by non-political officials will offer true transformation.
Spoornet runs the railways (previously dear old Brian Molefe was the CEO), and the Council should be lobbying to ensure that this is transformed into an industrial park to attract much-needed investment into this moribund town. What is really needed is a Chamber of Commerce to explore such opportunities.
Disrupting ward committee meetings for your own self-seeking pleasure is an insult to the poor people of Glencoe.
Brian
