Madam – Every week, I read the Newcastle Advertiser and am touched by how generous the Newcastle community is.
Not a week goes by, when I don’t read about how someone had reached out to someone less fortunate and tried to make a difference in their lives.
In today’s times, when people often lead selfish lifestyles, it is refreshing to know there are those who have not been tainted by the world’s materialistic desires. In fact, we need more and more people rising up and putting the needs of others ahead of their own.
True, people don’t always have the finances to help the needy. But you don’t always need money to make a difference. Simply being there for someone or joining a charity organisation as a volunteer is already a major contribution.
As the winter is finally upon us, I am encouraging others to reach out to the less fortunate among us. Let us make a difference and show there are people who still care..
