Vigilantism is not tolerated in Colita

Crime is under the control of the South African Police Service (SAPS) and other structures that are in place. This is a township and there must be respect

Why are you marching the streets of Colita?

Firstly let me start by reminding you about People Against Gangsterism and Drugs (PAGAD) that did not work in Estcourt because we are not a disorganised community. We have structures in place.

We have meetings and discuss our community problems. Crime is under the control of the South African Police Service (SAPS) and other structures that are in place. This is a township and there must be respect.

This one person could be helped by the SAPS and did not need your march. A registered structure in Colita is the Khoisan Action and I must say, we will not sit back and watch people start up vigilante marches. This is a way of breaking the law and attacking the community unlawfully. This country has a law that deals with crimes and I don’t believe that this boy is the only one who does this kind of thing.

I think this boy must tell us who these other people are. You don’t have a right to practice your egos in Colita, we will not allow this. The police that supported this march will be dealt with, as well as who manhandled a woman who is 104-years-old.

In Colita we have leaders and a councillor to address your concerns correctly, or you will face another force. Taking the law into your own hands is not the way to go.

Some people would use this type of activity to evoke fear over the community. Report these cases to the leaders and stop buying stolen stuff. Report every case. In Colita, vigilantism will not be tolerated, stop it now!
