RE: Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality placed under administration
This heading in our local newspaper sounded like a breath of fresh air.

The impression created was that, apart from dealing with findings of the Auditor General, the Administrator would attend to the day-to-day grievances of ratepayers and services for which they pay exorbitant rates for.
Pressing issues include:
1. Potholes developing into little ‘dongas’ and spreading throughout Estcourt like cancer. Inspect Forderville to see for yourself.
2. Overflowing of burst sewerage works – what a threat to health.

3. Damage/failure to restore areas to their original state after being repaired by Uthukela for burst water pipes.
4. Overgrown grass and failure to maintain pavement verges and marking of street signs.
5. Failure to remove refuse on designated days.
6. Failure to take electricity readings regularly, hence resorting to estimation and guess work.

The list continues, but the grievances mentioned need priority. What about forming a Ratepayers Association and withholding rates?
What about leaders in the community who previously served the municipality in different positions coming on board? What about writing to the Public Protector?
