While past the town library the other day, I saw that the Voortrekker monument that was erected in town some time ago has been BURNT.

Really, who gives you the right to damage such a lovely part of our town? And besides that you – whoever you might be – did not pay to erect it.
I have kept quiet through all the damage, etc that has been done to the monuments in Cape Town and Stellenbosch and those places.
Did any of you – once again whoever you might be – stop TO THINK that you might or your sister or brother might have been educated and housed by money left to South Africa by Cecil Rhodes?
This brings to mind the fact that HISTORY is history and you cannot do anything about it. Really, get a grip and stop your nonsense or get off your behinds and work, like I worked for all that I have and you will also have something.
Just remember, history is history and you cannot change it, we might not like it but there is nothing that we can do about it.
