Editor – I would like to applaud the Mnambithi TVET Colleges for a remarkable thing they are doing.
People usually think that studying is the only thing done at a college, but Mnambithi TVET Colleges have proved that besides studying, a whole lot of fun can be had and educational activities undertaken there.
I got to see this when I attended an event held at Mnambithi TVET College (town) on August 14, where the students participated in debate and poetry, and were also doing book reviews.
This event was very entertaining, testing the students’ knowledge regarding books and also very informative to us as the audience.
While the students were competing, they were also enjoying what they were doing.
You could easily see this just by observing their facial expressions.
This is good for the college; more people who wish to be part of this college will be attracted knowing that the institution offers more than just education, but also gives students the opportunity to showcase their talents. You never know who is watching and the influence that person has.
The winners from the competition were offered a chance to go and compete at provincial level. This is another good thing, because it means that besides doing what they enjoy (debating, reciting poetry and giving book reviews), they are also gaining recognition.
