Madam – As a town resident, and a pensioner, I am most definitely looking forward to the reestablishment of the parking meter system which regulates the occupation of parking spaces in our town.
For my partner and I it is very frustrating not being able to find a parking space within a short walking distance of the shop we wish to visit.

I realize that all parking spaces will be occupied at most times, but at least there will be the opportunity to take over a recently vacated space.
You will have to now remember to carry parking meter money around with you I presume, as I should imagine the meter will not accept bank cards!
I remember a letter from some months back, that stated that in some instances a shop owner considered the parking outside his shop as being his direct personal property.
The result being that father, mother granny and grandpa who all work in the family business all park their cars in the parking spaces directly outside the front of the shop in question.

Hopefully this deliberate abuse of the parking spaces will be a thing of the past.
Having come to town from a larger city, I often ponder the lack of parking venues, other than street parking, inasmuch that it is a pity that the town has never considered the development of either above-ground or below-ground parking facilities?
They generate a steady income, can be easily monitored for purposes of security and are therefore generally safe areas – maybe in the future?
