Estcourt rubbish dump closed on weekends?

Weekends is the only time that we have to remove our own garden refuse

Most of us work during the week. We pay our rates and expect our refuse to be removed by our hugely over-staffed municipality.

But as we all can see the refuse is not being removed on time, if at all.

This was evident when I went to the town dump on a Sunday to discard garden refuse. At the bottom of Lorne Street, across the road from the filling stations, refuse is piled high making it unsightly for visitors and residents of our town.

When I arrived at the dump the gates were closed and I was told by the attendant at the gate that she had been instructed not to allow any dumping over the weekends. Can the municipality please give us clarity on what is happening?
