Editor –

Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality would like to convey sincere gratitude to the team of local businesses consisting of social partners – namely the Al-Imdaad Foundation, Macksons Supermarket and Hyperzone, and Emangweni Bus Service – for taking the initiative in giving back to our communities during these trying times.

These social and business partners contributed more than 2500 food hampers to community members in Ward 1 to 23. This distribution process was part of efforts to assist severely affected community members following the national lockdown due to Covid-19.

This was conducted in compliance with the new Covid-19 regulations, which have been gazetted.

The municipality would also like to thank Operation Sukuma Sakhe, which is the structure that co-ordinated and brought together these stakeholders. On receiving these food hampers, the community was very grateful, as this will help them stay at home and have something to eat during lockdown.

Food parcels were delivered to residents in the comfort of their homes.
