Train derails near Dannhauser
The derailment surprised Dannhauser residents who have been enjoying their festive season.
A train derailment near Dannhauser yesterday, December 30, crippled a section of the main Durban/Johannesburg railway line.
The freight train believed to be transporting vehicles (although this has to be confirmed), derailed in a section of line passing Dannhauser town.

A resident filmed the derailed trucks from her property.
Security guards have been posted at the crash scene to prevent vandalism and/or theft.
Transnet has been contacted for comment and their response will be published once received.
In August this year, a similar train derailment blocked the Dundee/Vryheid line.
