Another perfect Saturday on the greens for golf enthusiasts.

Even though there was no competition over the Easter weekend, nothing could keep the golfers away as they took the chance to practice and perfect their game for the many upcoming competitions.

They say it never rains on the golf course. That was proven as golf enthusiasts made their way to the Newcastle Golf Club on Saturday (March 30) for the usual round of golf despite the rainy start to the day.

But before long, the skies broke and brilliant sunshine gave them a much-needed break.

Novices took the chance to hone their skills and display their budding talents, to the encouragement of the pros

The quiet, peaceful surroundings were occasionally filled with the sounds of banter and laughter of friends demonstrating the camaraderie among the players.

With each successful putt, they revelled in the satisfaction of a well-played stroke while the occasional errant shot was met with good-natured jest and encouragement.

The next competition will be the St. Dominic Golf Day, four-ball better ball, scramble drive format on April 20.
