Amajuba SAPS fun run encourages wellness and team spirit
The Amajuba District SAPS held its annual 10km District Commissioner’s Fun Run/Walk on Friday morning, March 28.
Entrants came under starter’s orders at 8 am from Newcastle Corner, following the D96 road toward Vulintaba.
Scores of police officers and support staff from across the district turned out in large numbers to participate. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm as some participants sprinted ahead with determination, while others opted for a relaxed, enjoyable walk.
Speaking on the aim of the event, Newcastle SAPS Cst Langa commented, “”In order to be able to perform your daily duties to the best of your abilities. One has to be fit not only mentally but physically as well. What better way to do that than to partake in activities that would promote/ enhance both?”
Beyond the friendly competition, the event served as a reminder of the importance of staying active for overall well-being. Through initiatives like these, SAPS continues to foster camaraderie, fitness, and a healthy lifestyle among its members.
