Club president Lizette van der Berg said the event raised funds for a wide range of community projects, including eye care, food drives, winter warmers, youth support, cancer support, and humanitarian aid.

All proceeds will go directly towards the Lions’ charitable initiatives.

It was an opportunity for golfers, sponsors, and businesses to enjoy a fun day of golf while supporting a good cause.

“Partnerships with local businesses are always in abundance”, Wilma Lindeque emphasised. They sponsored holes, donated prizes, and supported the cause.

Although it was a hot day, enjoyment and networking were evident.

Everyone had a full day of golf, camaraderie, and entertainment, culminating in a prize-giving ceremony to close the day.

In short, “it was a day of sport with a purpose: combining fun, fellowship, and fundraising to uplift the Newcastle community,” Van der Berg concluded.
