Golfers swing into action for CANSA fundraiser

The Barn Golf Day at Newcastle Golf Course drew 120 golfers and live music performances, raising funds for CANSA through sport, prizes, and a charity auction. Read more here:

Dozens of avid golfers flocked to the Newcastle Golf Course this past Saturday (20 September) to take part in the highly anticipated Barn Golf Day, which was aimed at raising funds for CANSA.

The excitement began from the very first tee-off, as South African musicians Leah, Franja du Plessis and Danny Smoke joined the 120 players on the greens for the day’s competition.

Water tables were strategically placed around the course to keep players refreshed, while food tables ensured everyone remained energised throughout the day.

The evening’s prize-giving ceremony at the Barn was even more packed with action. Every participant received a special prize, while the top performers were awarded exceptional prizes.

Congratulations to the following winners:
– 1st place: 
George Meyer and Willy Clayton – 58.67 Nett
– 2nd place: Richard Clayton and Uppies Upton – 59.67 nett c/o
– 3rd place: Carel le Roux and Attie Gero – 59.67 c/o
– 4th place: Dick Lemmer and Eric Wright – 60 nett

A fundraising auction added further excitement to the proceedings.

The day concluded with live performances by Leah, Franja, Danny and the legendary Robbie Wessels, ensuring no one was left tapping, dancing or singing along to the music.
