Inkosi Langalibalele Netball League gains momentum
This coming weekend will also see male netball being introduced.
The Inkosi Langalibalele Netball League continued this past weekend, with matches once again held at Lambert Park. The league, which is played monthly, features both the under-17 division and the open category.
Despite a rainy Sunday morning (September 28), the under-17 games went ahead, with 10 teams from across Inkosi Langalibalele competing fiercely for the chance to represent the local municipality at the upcoming District Championships in November.
In thrilling and closely contested matches, Umlilo maintained their dominance, finishing this leg at the top of the log with 18 points. The league has been praised for its role in strengthening social cohesion and promoting healthy lifestyles among young women.
The organisers have encouraged communities, local businesses and parents to continue supporting the growth of netball in the area.

The next fixtures are scheduled for Sunday, October 5, when the senior teams will take to the court for their second leg. Excitingly, Sunday’s event will also see the introduction of male netball into the league. The matches will be held at Lambert Park from 10:00 to 16:00.
