On Saturday (March 7), the Newcastle Lekker Resies ‘chased’ 16 teams to 27 stops across town.

Starting at the Pines Wedding and Conference Village, the teams had to conquer riddles, clues and rough terrain, travelling over 300km as far as Charlestown, in the hope of being the next winner of the R10,000 grand prize.

“Compared to 2025, this year’s Resies had double the amount of stops and more entries. We are very grateful for the community’s interest,” Johan Pieters from the Champ Marketing Group said.

Pieters conveyed a special thank-you for all the businesses’ interest and the main sponsors of the event, Kyotech and Changan.

Congratulations to Team OJAYS for winning best dressed and to the top 5:

1. Team Westchem Warriors (defending champions 2025 and 2026);
2. Team New Active Gold Fitness;
3. Team Red Rapids;
4. Team Unstable;
5. Team Thunderbolts.
