Newcastle secretaries stop to ‘smell the roses’
Secretaries swapped work for laughter, friendship and a floral celebration.
Secretaries from businesses across Newcastle traded their daily routines for a day of laughter, connection and celebration at the Newcastle Sakekamer’s annual Secretaries Day at The Barn on Wednesday last week.
This year’s theme, ‘Stop and Smell the Flowers’, set the tone for a colourful spring celebration, with guests embracing the floral theme and arriving dressed to impress.
Welcoming the guests, Newcastle Sakekamer vice-president Angelique van Vuuren paid tribute to the women who play a vital role behind the scenes of businesses every day.
“Secretaries are often the heartbeat of a company. Today is about taking a moment to recognise your hard work, dedication and everything you do, often without being noticed,” she said.
A day of laughter and appreciation
Special guest speaker Charmaine Grundling kept the audience entertained with a mix of inspiration, practical wisdom and plenty of humour, leaving the guests encouraged and smiling.
The day also featured delicious food, gift bags packed with thoughtful goodies, and a lucky ticket draw.
The relaxed setting gave the guests an opportunity to meet, connect and simply enjoy themselves.
The Newcastle Sakekamer extended its sincere thanks to all the sponsors, businesses and individuals whose generosity and support helped make the celebration possible.
