Horse riders stake their claim
The first tentpegging event of the year was held last Saturday.
The 2014 Tentpegging season set off at a gallop last Saturday.
Normandien Club hosted its first event which saw Hannes Hattingh from Harrismith taking home the prize for the Best Senior Rider.
Local, Roland Collyer and Corne Henning (Harrismith) shared the Senior Vic award.
Jani Potgieter from Witkoppe was the Best Junior Rider of the competition, while Armand van den Berg from Majuba received the prize for the Junior Vic.
Following the competition, a junior KwaZulu-Natal team was selected.
Jani Potgieter, Armand vd Berg, Tisha Willemse and Tagan Maritz will now represent the province at the Junior South African Tentpegging Championships, from 9 to 14 December in the Cape.
Normandien Club wishes these riders everything of the best.

The next tentpegging event on the calendar will be held in Harrismith on January 18, and the club hopes to increase the number of riders at events in future.
