Karate pupils end year off with a kick

Karate was the name of the game, as 286 karateka from 12 dojos gathered at the Arbor Park Recreational Centre last Saturday.

The karate pupils flocked to the recreational centre to participate in the Northern KwaZulu Natal JKA year end function.

The day started off with a senior grade training session, which was followed by pupils with coloured belts joining in on the preparation.

Once grooming had been complete, the last colour belt grading for the year was held.

“The grading went extremely well with some karateka displaying some beautiful karate,” said Sensei Johan Swart.

After the grading, karateka were awarded trophies for their hard work during the course of the past year.
