A really enjoyable eight weeks
This will be the end of a really enjoyable eight weeks of camaraderie and fun both on and off the greens
Believe it or not, it is still Barbara Baleri’s week! The trips tournament played on Sunday and kindly sponsored by Concept Advertising (Mr Kitesh Maharaj) was won by Barbara and Oscar Baleri and Cor Kleynhans with 55 points. Jill Atkinson, Gavin Robinson and Carol Unsworth of Bergville were second with 48 points, and Rodney Perrin, Barbara and Graham Elworthy were third on 43 points.
Bertus van der Westhuizen, Donovan Fischer and Peter Landsdale put in a rare appearance to come fourth on 40 points. Fifth were Charlie and Ria Mapp and Ida Oosthuizen of Harrismith. All in all, it was a super day with lovely weather conditions and lots of fun and laughter on the greens. The catering was really appreciated, and Janet Barnardo and her team are to be congratulated.
The Sarel’s Workshop Business League has its finals on Wednesday, with the following teams being chosen to play against club teams: Team 1. Krish Karrien (Standard Bank), Dawie (Spar), Pieter (Dedekinds) and Charmaine (Sarel’s Workshop); Team 2. D McKenzie (Nampak) Gary Ramdeen, Juanita(Dedekinds), Lungia (Standard Bank); Team 3. Meera (UBM), Johnny (CWT), Hannalie (Micro Sure), Molloi (Hospice); Team 4. Flip Fourie (Golden Oldies), Navashan (Sasko), Mario Venter (Sarel’s Workshop), Wayne (Toyota). Reserves: Ronel (CWT), Zwane (Hospice), Jo (Dedekinds), R Clarke(Toyota) and Vicky (Nolands Advice Service). This will be the end of a really enjoyable eight weeks of camaraderie and fun both on and off the greens, and everyone will look forward to starting afresh next year.
Our thoughts will be with Charmaine van der Merwe as she goes under the knife for ‘tennis elbow’ in Pietermaritzburg and we wish her a really speedy recovery.
