Collecting trophies for SALGA games
These games were hosted by our very own district municipality last year and they offered a high profit margin to most business people.
uThukela District Municipality excelled at the SALGA KZN Games which were held from December 6 to 9 in Kokstad.
The games have become an integral part of the sporting calendar in KwaZulu-Natal over the years.

This year saw the Harry Gwala District Municipality enjoying the traffic of over 6000 people which included mayors, councillors, athletes and officials from 10 district municipalities.
uThukela District Municipality emerged victorious in ladies’ soccer and table tennis, taking home two gold trophies. As if that was not enough, uThukela sportsmen also decided to take silver for cricket, bronze for men’s rugby and another bronze for ladies’ basketball. Considering the fact that the games took place away from home, these are much improved results compared to previous years.
Although uThukela Mayor Dudu Mazibuko had other commitments and couldn’t attend the games, she was over-the-moon on hearing the district’s victory news. She conveyed her message of appreciation to parents for allowing their children to take part in the games.
