Karatekas win prizes

The annual Northern Natal JKA karate prize-giving was held in Newcastle on November 30.
The karatekas started off early Saturday morning with training and the last grading of the year, where all Ladysmith karatekas passed with flying colours.

Ladysmith’s prize winners were:
Lathan van Deventer – Best Dinky of the Year; Rowan Yssel – Most Spirited Boy Fighter; Martin Louw – Most Dedicated and Promising Junior Karate Boy; Fathima Zahra Kader – Best Dinky Karate Girls of the Year; Cameron Wessels – Best Junior Karate Boy of the Year; Barend Pretorius – Best Senior Karate Boy of the Year; Abigail Crocker – Most promising and Improved Kata Girl; Phumla Khumalo – Best Senior Karate Girl of the Year; Bradley Canham – Best All-rounder Male of the Year.
