Mfundo wins the game for Northerns

On Sunday the Oval hosted a Premier League match between Northern Combined and Masibemunye from Pietermartizburg in a 50-over game.

Mascor and Molls faced off in a low-scoring yet thrilling 30-over encounter this past weekend.
Batting first, Mascor were skittled out for only 79.
Brandon top-scored with 30 and Logan chipped in with 13. Molls’ best bowlers were Wilfred, who impressed with a figure of 4/13, and Francis, who took 2/9. Despite the low total to chase, Molls were made to work for their victory.
They reached the total with the loss of eight wickets. Joff top-scored with 31 and David made 10 as Molls reached 80/8. Best bowler for Mascor was Shaun, who took a fiver, finishing with a figure of 5/22, and Oniel, who took 2/21.

Shaun and Sheldon destroyed the Masibemunye attack, making 67 and 65 respectively. M Cheeza took 5/38 and Andile took 2/12 for the visitors. In reply they could only make 81 all out. P Zondi top-scored with 22 and M Msomi made 19 not out. Mfundo was the chief destroyer for Northern Combined, taking 5/29, with Faraaz backing him up, taking 3/9.
