Angling ladies bring back bronze medal
Western Provence took the gold and Limpopo the silver

The 2014 KZN ladies’ angling team recently represented the KZN Freshwater Angling Union at the South African Ladies’ Championships which took place at Bloemhof Dam over three days.
The team – which comprises eight anglers, a reserve angler, manager and coach – participated in the President’s Division at the competition. Despite somewhat difficult fishing conditions, the ladies fought back courageously on the last day to move from fourth to third position, securing the bronze medal. Western Province took the gold and Limpopo the silver.
Three of the KZN ladies were invited to take part in the national trials, namely Rika Kotze, Leboné Boshoff and Liz Bugden. Rika Kotze was selected to represent the Ladies’ Protea Team and Leboné Boshoff the Ladies’ SAFBAF ‘B’ (South African Freshwater Bank Angling Federation) team.
The manager and coach were also selected for national teams. Bruce McQuade was selected to represent the Ladies/ SAFBAF ‘B’ team as manager, while Wikus Marx was selected to represent the Ladies’ Invitational team as manager.
Congratulations to the anglers who were selected to participate at national level and well done to the ladies for bringing the bronze medal back to KZN.
