Klipbank to take on Harrismith in pairs finals

The Spar Twilight Business League is going great guns and is not being rained on either! The log positions this week are: 1. Microsure; 2. Hospice; 3. Mortimer Toyota. Talking about rain, it was very welcome (make no mistake) but it did stop the finals of the Men’s & Ladies’ Pairs on Sunday. Magriet Coetzee and Veronica Malan were set to take on Ria Mapp and Ida Oosthuizen, and Bertus van der Westhuizen and Cor Kleynhans were up against Braam van Zyl and Chris Opperman, both being Klipbank versus Harrismith. Consequently, these matches will be played on Saturday morning together with the semi-finals and finals of the Mixed Pairs which were rained out at The Nest. If you want to see good bowls, make sure you get down to the club.
The Midlands Fundraiser is being played in Bergville on Sunday and all are urged to participate in this important event on the Midlands calendar. We look forward to seeing you there!
Our congratulations to Barbara Baleri who is now playing in the Open side at the Inter-Provincials, and also to Lorraine Kirsten who will be playing in the ‘B’ side in Port Elizabeth. Hannah Gevers from Vryheid took ill and had to withdraw – we wish her a speedy recovery.
