Bowlers aim for individual glory

The Club Singles Championships were contested on Sunday at Newcastle.

Douglas Steele, Andy Robinson, Simon Ball and Marie Botha won the monthly FedAuto meat competition, played last Saturday.

Ernie Phillips, Roger Jackets, Piet Reyneke and Koos Smit won second prize.

Doing it for themselves

The Club Singles Championships started on Sunday, with an entry of 18 men and 12 ladies.

Men’s section winners were Sid Price, Stephen Shaw, Andy Crosbie, Monty Steele, Trevor Hutchinson and Tony Reis, while the women’s winners were Alice Howe, Sue Hutchinson, Michelle Steele and Marie Botha.

Sid will play Tony in a semi-final game, while Trevor plays Monty, and Stephen faces Andy in the quarter-finals.

Conversely, Alice is set to duel with Sue, and Michelle takes on Marie to determine the finalists.
