Riaz honoured for his achievements

After years of sporting excellence, Riaz Adam Abdulla was finally honoured for his achievements and contributions to football.
Riaz was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Sports Veterans Association at a glitzy ceremony in Pietermaritzburg where 200 Indian sports stars were also honoured.
“I’m extremely proud of this achievement as I’m finally recognised for my hard work.”
Riaz spoke of the difficulties of playing football during the Apartheid era and his joy of finally receiving recognition for his talent. No stranger to the sporting world, Riaz also played Badminton and also coaches Cricket.
His brothers also played football and his nephew is former Dolphins cricketer, Yusuf Abdulla.
