The concept of completing the competition in one weekend was extremely successful. Competition was fierce, with games going well past 21 ends to get a result.
The finals, contested by Greg Conelly and Willie Nel, ended with Greg being ultimate winner. The ladies’ final was between Lyn Dippenaar and Nan Roos, with Nan being the winner. This was followed by an enjoyable bring-and-braai. Bowlers are asked to bear with the green keeper while he is trying to eradicate the curse of the clover and broad leaf weeds.
Well done to Nan Roos and Elsie Pretorius for winning the Northerns KZNCB Ladies’ Pairs; runners-up were Alice Howe and Anne Wood. A fiercely contested Men’s Pairs final saw Philip Scheepers and Hogart Gevers beaten by Trevor Moore and Frans Schoon.
A major fundraising croquet day will be arranged early in May, with a military and Victorian theme. Watch this space…

There will be sunset bowls every Friday from 3:30pm onwards. Anyone wishing to try their hand at bowls, roll up – club bowls available free of charge.
