Full field of golfers expected for the Cas Venter Memorial Monthly Mug

Our club golfers were a little scarce this past weekend, with only 14 players deciding to compete on Saturday in a Club-Sponsored IPS format. Hopefully this weekend will produce a full field for the Cas Venter Memorial Monthly Mug?

The winner on Saturday, on a fine 41 points, was Andrea Sirchia, followed by Patrick Pieterse and Enrico Bozza, both on 37 points. Closest on the 8th was Vernon Naidoo, and on the 13th it was Cassie Rautenbach. Well done, Chia, it seems your golf is peaking a week too late?

The third round of the Mortimer League took place on Sunday and once again, there were a few upset results. 4 Must Get Beers have really gotten off to a flying start this year, scoring another full house (8) and leading on 23 from Team Golf. Team Golf, showing no mercy against Mortimer Toyota, also scored a full house (8) and has them only three behind the leaders on 20, followed by the Scorpions on 17 and the Bullets on 15.

Note that the fourth round of the Mortimer League will be taking place on Saturday, May 17, at 12.30pm, with a shotgun start.

This Saturday is the Cas Venter Monthly Mug (Medal / IPS and Eclectic). Please join the sponsor afterwards for a bring ‘n braai (salads and pap to be supplied). There will also be a big screen to watch the Sharks annihilate the Lions. All are welcome!

Entry lists for the Pro10 Tournament and the Club Championships have been posted on the notice board.

Due to the early fading light, there will be no ‘play for chickens’ on Friday afternoons until further notice. Tabs-in on Saturday will now start at 2pm.
