Walkers – 3km: (1) Kholiwe Buthelezi 26m27s. Runners – 3km: (1) Jayrushka Massalia 16m58s; (2) Zoleka Nduna 28m32s. Runners – 4km: (1) Lindani Sangweni 13m44s; (2) Bongani Zwane 13m56s; (3) Jonathan Benjamin 14m31s; (4) Thokozani Phungula 14m35s; (5) Joel Khumalo 15m13s; (6) Siphesihle Khanyi 16m44s; (7) Sboniso Buthelezi 16m47s; (8) Nathaniel Benjamin 18m13s; (9) Phelani Ndabe 18m36s; (10) Reggie Nkosi 18m41s; (11) Defy Mthethwa 21m55s; (12) Mzwandile Nxumalo 33m52s.
With drizzle in the air it looked as if there would be very slow times in the time trials.
But not even the bad weather could stop Lindani and Bongani from running such fast times in the 4km. Well done to the rest of the field as well, as ten athletes managed to break the 20-minute barrier. Jayrushka also produced a stunning run in the 3km. Please note that the time trials take place at Dundee Junior School at 5:15pm sharp every Wednesday afternoon.
