Cricketers celebrate end-of-season success

The current cricket season came to an end over the weekend, with two well-contested finals.
K&L African United ‘A’ had the better of their second team, winning both the 30-over and six-a-side competitions. This was a matter of pride for the ‘A’ team, as the ‘B’ team beat them in the T20 finals earlier in the season.
After the finals, the annual awards presentations took place. Union president Rehaz Khan thanked all the sponsors: IC Asmal family for the 50 overs, Crown Hotel for the 30 overs, A Asvat for the T20, and M Bhigjee of Autotech for the six-a-side. Special thanks went to Emnambith/Ladysmith Municipality and the ground staff for the preparation of the fields. The president also recognised the contributions of his four HLVPs, as he presented them with the President’s Award. The teams will now take a break and wait for the new season to start in September.
