The Dundee Country Club would like to thank all who supported the Dundee High School reunion held at the Club on May 17.
Wednesday, May 7’s 18-hole, 4-Ball Multiples meat competition: due to the day being Voter’s Day it attracted a good field. The winners were: first Dolly Bradbury and Debbie Catlett with 83 points; Sifiso Kunene and Patrick Mthembu came second with 82 points; and third Blessing Chiwaya and Sibusiso Sithole on 76 points. Mandla Mthethwa and Clement Chiwanda came fourth with 68 points. Two-clubs were carded by six players, and the jackpot was won by Jolanda Ceronio on 11 points.
On Saturday the Monthly Mug was played in Individual Medal format, and the winners were: A Division Billy Francis on 66 nett; B Division went to Clement Chiwanda on 68 nett; Ladies’ Mug went to Sandy Browning in the B Division on 72 nett; and C Division went to Dolly Bradbury on 79 nett. Two-clubs went were carded by eight players.
The Sages/Sanlam Cancer Day was hosted on May 14 by the Sages, and Sanlam sponsored the prizes. Thank you to the Dundee Country Club and the team for their hard work and effort in making the day a success.
On Friday, May 16 the Dundee Country Club once again was the venue for the annual Springlake Charity Golf Day. The format was American Scramble, and the winners for the day was the BB Transport team on 54 nett. Second on a count-out from IEMAS Sales and Farmtrac on 55 nett was the Behm Belt Conveyors team. Fifth was Sasko Sales on 56 nett followed by Sandvik on 57 nett.
On May 17 the club competition was played in IPS format, and the winners were as follows: first Dan Scholtz on 40 points, counted out from Donavan Vernes; third was Brett Meyer on 38 points, counted out from Mandla Mthethwa. Two-clubs were carded by Willie Erasmus, Robert Khumalo and Brett Meyer. The jackpot was won by Willie Erasmus.
Social tennis on Saturdays at 2pm – R30 entry fee. Squash League started on May 13 – check Courier for notices.
Saturday Night is rugby braai night – please join us on Saturday nights (meat and salads available to purchase).
The club has now got card facilities.
