CHELMSFORD – Newcastle Chelmsford Angling Club held its annual prize giving recently.

At this event, top anglers from the club’s fold were rewarded for their fishing achievements in the 2015/2016 season.

Piet Bothma received top honours and the bulk of the awards.

He received prizes for the both the biggest carp and biggest eel caught during the season, for catching the most fish, and was also crowned Angler of the Year.

“We hope the new year will be more of the same for these anglers,” club members commented. “May it be a big one.”

Sanjeev Singh also received a number of accolades.

Capping off what has been a fantastic year for competing anglers, Sanjeev received prizes for both the biggest barbel and the biggest scaly fish.
