Local Sport: Rain postpones cricket league matches

LENNOXTON – Over the past week, Newcastle has received much needed rains.
But for cricket enthusiasts, it meant no official cricket matches were played in the Ithemba Night League and Spur Super Saturday League currently under way.

The match between Newcastle and Vryheid that was scheduled for November 12, was also washed out and will now be played on November 20 at Arbor Park, starting at 10.30am

The next Spur Super Saturday League fixtures will take place on November 19 at 2pm.
Warriors will play against Asians at Arbor Park grounds, while Lennoxton and Phoenix will battle it out on Paradise grounds.

Drakensberg Old Boys will face Paradise, while Highlands will go up against Eagles. Both matches will take place at Ferrum High School grounds.
