Ladysmith AC win Transnet knockout eliminator

The exciting first round of the Transnat Knock Out Eliminator was held on November 20 at Sandford.
All five teams were bidding to finish in the top four. In the end, Ladysmith finished on top with 114 points; followed by Breakwaters (105 points); Challengers (62 pts); Stillwaters (60 pts) and Dannhauser (45 pts). In the Semi Final, Ladysmith takes on Stillwaters while Breakwaters will do battle against Challengers on March 12 2017 at Richgate Park. The winners progress to the finals on April 9 2017 at Sandford. Kalvin Pillay of Ladysmith was the “angler of the day” scoring 16 points, receiving the orange cap, an outright trophy and R200 while his team mate, Yusheer Govender occupies poll position with 26 points holding on his “green” cap. The next fixture will be VME League 4 at Richgate Park on 11 December – makes for an interesting season going forward. The title holders thus far: Preethum Birbal of Challengers AC (scaled fish category – 3,650kg); Sikander Amod of Stillwaters AC (non scaled category – 6,9kg); Suvyn Budhoo (Stillwaters AC – bass of 1,090kg); Veruschka Boodhoo (Stillwater AC) – lady of angler); Dan Govender (Ladysmith AC – senior angler of the year – 14pts); Yusheer Govender (Ladysmith AC – angler of the year with 26 points followed by Kalvin Pillay (22 pts) and Kaveer Singh (18 points).
